Frequently Asked Questions

Check out the list below to get answers to your questions.

What is the purpose of 100K Challenge?

Each year the Carry the Load Organization runs the challenge to honor and remember our military heroes, past, present, and future. While we do not charge for participation, we do recommend donating to Carry the Load.

Can I do more than 100K?

Absolutely! 100,000 meters is the initial goal, if you want to see how many meters you can accumulate, more power to you!

What movements are included?

You may choose to accumulate meters via: Bike, Row, Ruck, Run, Ski, or Walking.

How does scoring work?

Simply enter the meters you completed after each activity. Your total will be summed up and listed on your activity dashboard, as well as the public dashboard.

Is each activity worth the same value?

That is a great questions. The answer is NO! It is much easier for someone to get to 100,000 meters biking than it is running or walking. Therefore, some of the activities are weighted differently.

  • Bike: 1/3 (3000m = 1000m)
  • Row: 1/1
  • Ruck: 1.5/1 (1000m = 1500m)
  • Run: 1/1
  • Ski: 1/1
  • Walk: 1/1
What type of bikes can I use?

You may use any type of bike. Including: C2 BikeErg, AirBike, Spin Bike, or a road bike.

What counts as a ruck?

A ruck consists of carrying a weighted pack or vest while completing your activity. Females must use 15lb or more. Males must use 20lb or more.

Do I have to prove my activity?

No. We use the honor system. However, if an activity seems suspicious we have the right to remove the activity. Play fair!

What are the deadlines?

You can officially start tracking meters on December 1st. The last day track meters will be December 31st.

Do my daily steps count as activity?

No! Daily steps can not be counted towards your total. Only activities that are above and beyond your day to day life. However, if you are completing worksout at the gym or at home, and you use one of the 6 activity types, you can count the meters.
